Golf Digest Ranks Both Country Club of St. Albans Gold Courses

The Country Club of St. Albans is pleased to announce Golf Digest ranked both of its championship golf courses among the Top 10 courses in Missouri.  The Country Club of St. Albans was the only club in Missouri to have two courses picked for this prestigious honor.  The Club’s Tavern Creek course was selected 7th, while the Lewis & Clark course was 9th. Golf Digest made the announcement in its February 2013 issue.

“Missouri has some incredible golf courses with award-winning, challenging designs,” said Tom O’Toole, Jr., United States Golf Association Vice President. “These two courses are set up to challenge seasoned and casual golfers.  This ranking for The Country Club of St. Albans is well-deserved as these courses are two gems for the St. Louis region.”

Golf Digest selects the courses based on a variety of criteria including shot values, esthetics, design variety, conditioning and overall atmosphere.  Courses are scored on a total of seven categories, and shot values are double-weighted.

“It is an honor and a privilege to have not one, but both of our signature courses in the Top 10 across the State of Missouri,” said David Derfel, General Manager for The Country Club of St. Albans. “Our members, guests and tournament golfers have the opportunity to play two of the best courses anywhere in the Midwest, right here in the St. Louis area.

The Country Club of St. Albans is proud to consistently have both courses ranked in the Top Ten by Golf Digest.
